My interest in the health care system was launched when I joined ALS TDF as an intern while I was an undergraduate at Boston College. I stayed on at ALS TDF (now ALS TDI) for 4 years where I was lucky enough to work with hundreds of people with ALS and their families, including Ben, Jamie and Stephen Heywood.
Anti-violence work is another passion of mine. For 7 years I spent every Sunday night answering a hotline overnight in a domestic violence shelter. I also spent several years as part of the Massachusetts Coalition against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence (Jane Doe, Inc.) and working with a fabulous team on violence and sex trafficking research at Harvard.
In 2007 I completed my masters’ degree at the Harvard School of Public Health, where I studied a variety of issues, including health communication. I'm really excited to be using and expanding my health communication knowledge at PatientsLikeMe.
I’m the resident baker PatientsLikeMe and also a fan of live music, traveling, and pilates.
