Taking It One Day at a Time. I am a 48 year old former IT Specialist for the Federal Government since 1980. I love my family, and my dog China-Girl. I like cooking, decorating, hand dancing, reading, playing bid whisk and being with my family. I use to dance all the time, but since this pain of Fibromyalgia I have not been able to dance. I believe that because of the continuous stress inflicted upon me from my job over several years this Fibro was able to take hold of me. On Friday, January 15, 2010, I resigned my over $90,000 per year job with the Federal Government to seek disability retirement. I have decided to eliminate stress, anxiety, and depression from my life as much as possible. Money is great, and I need it to provide shelter for myself, food, medication, and clothing just as we all do. But, it’s not everything. Now that I am experiencing severe pain in my back, neck, hands, shoulders, arms, hips, and legs, feet, fingers, I just want to be free. Free of pain, stress, and anything else that will keep me in bondage. I plan to stay home and take it one day at a time. Now days I must force myself to get up out of bed, take China-Girl for a walk, and perform my daily house work. Since, I have been off work for several months now I feel better mentally. Better than I have felt in 19 years because I am less stressed, and I am not dealing with evil people who cause harm. Yes, I am in pain, but I still feel a since of FREEDOM and PEACE. From now on I have promised myself to be kind, and good to me, and I will never allow people to cause me to be subjected to harmful stress. Now that I have freed myself from the main problem I am hopeful that a cure will be founded for Fibromyalgia, and fatigue. I am able to dream again, and one day I will dance again.
