My ME probably started as early as 1968, but certainly by 1973 when I contracted Glandular Fever (mono) and never fully recovered. From either being ignored, or not taken seriously, it took until 2008 to have this diagnosed (as CFS as is now the custom in the UK.) In 1986 I was a passenger in a head-on RTA and it is my opinion that this was the catalyst for both the fibromyalgia and spondylosis. The former began to manifest itself in 1995, gradually worsening, but was also not diagnosed until 2008. I finally received a diagnosis for severe cervical spondylosis in Feb 2011.
