I have suffered from degenerative joint disease for most of my adult life, so it was very difficult to obtain a diagnosis of fibromyalgia. But the occurence of additional symptoms provided the map my dr needed to diagnosis me. I had to retire early on permanent diability due to the djd and fibro. My pain and inability to focus/concentrate interferred too greatly with my job. I am able now to rest when I need to and take life at a pace that is acceptable for me. I have a very loving husband, 2 daughters, 1 son-in-law and 3 precious grandchildren who love me and are very supportive.
I am truly blessed by God to have a life filled with so much love. I have good days when I am able to do some sewing or scrapbooking or playing with the grandchildren. On the bad days I know that I have to take it easy. I have also learned to listen to my body and not push myself beyond my limits. I am a perfectionist and have always been an overachiever so it is very difficult for me to slow down. But with my family and God I am learning to live a joyful life in spite of fibro!
