My Mom was recently diagnosed with ALS which has been very enlightening. Being the closest family member to Mom, I have taken on as many caretaking responsibilities as I can but I live 5 hours away so it is difficult. Most of the time I feel emotionally split between being at home and being with Mom. Thank goodness Mom is a very strong and independent lady!!
