About KAP

I am caregiver to a wonderful man (my husband) who was recently diagnosed (April 09) with ALS. We are just entering this new journey together with our four children ages 20, 15, 13, and 10 shown in my picture. I am working very hard at keeping all of our spirits up at this point as it is such a new diagnosis. The kids are doing very well, my husband and I are still in shock. More About KAP

nerve entrapment.  The neurologist ordered a catscan of my husband's brain and cervical spine (which was normal,) blood work (also normal,) and an EMG (NOT normal.)  In addition, he had hyper-reflexia, clonus, and diffuse fascicilations.  We finished all the tests and came out with a "most probably ALS" diagnosis.  Our most recent 2nd opinion was "no question it's ALS" diagnosis.

We are now just trying to absorb the information given to us.  We have attended two ALS Clinics (May and July 09).  We are hoping for a slow progression of this disease as we have a great deal we want to do together!
