Career in submarines in US Navy. Retired from Navy in 1995. Immediately went to work in industry, reaching second (and final) retirement at end of March 2007. Developed PD coincident with retirement. After being diagnosed for PD for nearly 3 years, I developed Camptocormia, and then in March 2010, my diagnosis was changed to a "Parkinson's Plus" disease -- Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA).

Since January 2007 or before I have developed the following symptoms:

• 1. Decreased ability to grasp with left hand
• 2. Pain in left arm
• 3. Change in gait, with slight dragging of left foot
• 4. Accelerated tiredness, even after little physical activity
• 5. Overall "slowness" in accomplishing tasks
• 6. "Drooling" at night while sleeping
• 7. Inability to focus on (previously) simple tasks
• 8. Left hand and lower arm are now larger and darker than right
• 9. Some loss of bladder control at times
• 10. Difficulty in getting up from chairs

Since early June 2007, severe aching has developed in left arm, impacting sleep at night.  Also a recent sleep assessment identified sleep apnea, although minor.  Dr. Z conducted CAT scan of lower head and neck, monitored stress test, sonogram of left arm and blood work, but all were inconclusive.

Dr. M diagnosed Parkinson's Disease in July 2007.   Then I became a member of the exclusive "PD Club".
