About shadowsmom42

In 1992 I was rear-ended at 70 mph (I was at a stop on the freeway in traffic). That is what caused my Post-Traumatic Fibromyalgia. It has also left me with chronic low back pain like sharp shooting, stabbing pain and L5-S1 Radiculopathy. Prior to the accident, I was working full time. I am now a stay at home mom to a 17 yr. old daughter in the 12th grade. My 26 yr old daughter is in the Air Force. I've been married for 17 yrs and live w/my husband, daughter, dog and 2 cats.

More About shadowsmom42

On December 24, 2010, I was involved in my 4th car accident, NONE of which were my fault. LOL. Just in the wrong place at the wrong time. LOL. This time, a man didn't yield to me and ended up totaling both cars by t-boning mine. Yell (The police report worded it as a t-bone but to me it was the entire front drivers side, not quite centered.) Ugh....I didn't think anything was wrong with me at the time as my adrenaline was running 100 mph. But since the accident, I have what's called a Lemierre's Sign in which my spinal cord is getting impinged whenever I tilt my head forward. I had a CT Myelogram to make sure my plate and screws in the C6-C7 is ok (I had just had surgery 2 mos. prior to accident) and to see if that's the area where it's getting impinged, but it isn't. After that Myelogram, the spinal canal did not close and I ended up with a spinal headache for 3 days before I finally had a Blood Patch. If you're not sure what that is, all I can tell you is you do NOT want to go through that. Myelograms are bad enough, especially since they don't sedate anymore for anything, but then to do a Blood Patch, they have to go right back in the same spot in the spinal canal......Let's just say it was NOT fun nor pain-free! LOL. I have since had 2 regular CT's, one of the lumbar spine and one of the thoracic. I'm now waiting to get results.

Update (as of 12-3-2011): After having the spinal cord stimulator removed, which left me with a major staph infection, I was able to have an MRI which showed that I have Chiari I Malformation with 10mm cerebellar ectopia. Just what I need now!! NOT. Looking at 'brain' surgery at some point which scares the crap out of me. All I know, is that I do NOT need more surgeries and I will put this one off as long as I can.........
