I am 54 years old, raising my last teenager !! He is 15 1/2 and is helpful most of the time...he helps me open jars and pour things. I have worked as a psychologist but now I am on medical leave. In Jan of this year I began to see double...I had noticed frequent choking and difficulty swallowing for several weeks. After several trips to eye doctors...I was told "You better go to the ER..." Well, I did call a colleague and she made referrals for MRI's, CT scan, neuro-opthamalogist, neurologist...I had scans, and blood taken, you all know the routine. Well, the diagnosis is Myasthenia Gravis.
