About Smalltowngirl
I have been married for 14 years! I have 3 children ages 16-11 and they are active in basketball. I am a career counselor and enjoy working with all types of people. We have a house built in 1910 that we are remodeling. My husband and kids are very supportive and help me in any way they can. All 3 kids play either basketball and/or football at any given time of the year and are all active. During the ball seasons, we have attended from 2-5 games during any week of the season. Whew, life is crazy around here!
What some people do not understand is the life that I have already had. It has been rough, very rough. I had my 1st daughter and 6 months later, my 1st husband, me, and my baby was in a real bad car accident that almost took my life, but did take my husband's life. I remaried 1 year later (to my husband of 14 years). 3 miscarriages later, I had my 2nd daughter, 3 years later I had my son. One day while at work as a CNA, I severly dislocated my shoulder. AT that time, my son was only 4 months old and I was still breastfeeding him. I underwent 2 surgeries on my shoulder only to have ended up with a partial disability and was told that I would not get any better or WORSE. The thing was, I kept getting worse and my family doctor could not figure out why I hurt. Everything kept going back to my shoulder. 8 years later, I go for a second opinion and find out I was severly depressed (because of the pain), chronic pain disorder, and fibroyalgia. All this on top of osteoarthritis and chronic arthritis. By time I got in to see the 2nd doctor for my initial visit, I was crying. A few weeks before that, my son broke his finger bad enough, he had to have a pin put in his finger. I had to sit in he room waiting for him to come out from a 2 hour surgery. We sat in there for 8 hours total. I was in pain. SO my doctor now says that with everything that was going on, it made my fibro come to the top. So all in all about 8 years I have been suffering with Fibro, but just found out.
I have since been diagnosed with degenerative disk disease and severe arthritis in my neck.
My newest dr. says that my symptoms point to ms, but if that's what it is, it is still in the very early stages because no test shows it yet.
Now, however, an arthritis dr says the fibro is very severe, but a phyc dr. says me not depressed, its from the pain. My knuckles swell and turn purple now, my feet swell, and to top it all off, I am updating my education for work so it takes me even longer to understand what I am studying.
