About bearpaw

I am a 60 year old gay male, who has been out for only 12 years. I'm not real crazy about being HIV+ but I guess it could always be worse. I know 3 people in the last 6 months who have been diagnosed with cancer, 2 with pancreatic. Life's not always fair you know. I still haven't told anyone who's near and dear to me, including family. Had a near miss a couple of weeks ago with my ex-lover. I guess time will take care of everything.

More About bearpaw

(5/6/10) I have a new Doctor who put me on meds, he didn't want to mess around with me as my numbers were bad.  Dr. G Couchonnal is a nice Dr, very straight forward and to the point.  He doesn't approve of all of the supplements that I take so I will finish up what I have and not buy anymore.  My meds only cost me $30 per month with my insurance.  I'm not happy to be on meds, but if they make me better, then I'm ok with it.  the meds make it more real I guess.

12/09) My doctor wanted me to get new bloodwork done every 3 months, I've found out that between the lab they use (Quest) and my company's insurance, I'm still owing a big quantity of money on the bill.  I sent a letter to my doctor to let him know I only wanted to get tested every 6 months and hopefully can get started in mid-January with this plan.  It makes me a little nervous since i haven't started on meds yet.  I am currently battling through a case of shingles, man these things hurt bad.  I'm curious to know if the HGH injections that I completed 3 weeks ago had anything to do with these pain in the ass, literally, shingles.  I haven't gotten a response back from Dr. John yet, I don't know that I will.  I am really tired, the itching on my leg and ass keep me up most of the night.

6/11/10 - I just started taking Atripla and my new doctor wanted me to have a blood test done after 2 weeks.  My red and white blood cells were very low and my blood platelets were at 6000 (the healthy human will have 150,000).  I went in the hospital to get an immune booster and platelets and the had another round of platelets a week later when they dropped from 38,000 to 25,000.  My last test yesterday had my red and white still low but better and my platelets at 44,000.  A bone marrow procedure showed no cancer thankfully, but I need to get a CBC done weekly now.
