I have been married to Carolyn for 28 years and have 3 adult sons. I have been in the RAF for 31 years and am currently serving in the RAF as a Search And Rescue(SAR) paramedic winchman. I deployed to Afghanistan in Aug 08 and completed a 2 month detachment serving as a combat paramedic operating on the Chinook helicopter as part of the Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) operating in temps of 45dec Celcius at heights of 8000ft above sea level carrying 50lb in body armour. It was on my return from Afghan that my voice suddenly deteriorated and I then started showing other signs of MND.
