About mamagonnawin

I am married since 2001 and have 2 kids that are 12 and 5. I have been suffering with minor symptoms of Fibromyalgia since 1983....in 1998 I had an accident while driving a forklift that brought out the pain. Since the pain started setting in, many other symptoms have developed over time. I had both of my kids by c-section, had to have a full hysterectomy in 2005 and left work in March/April 2005 for good. I recieve full disability from employer and CPP. Life is a lot better since leaving work, as I have the time I need to take care of me better, which in turn makes me a better mother/Wife

More About mamagonnawin

I do all of my research before heading to my doctors, as I try to find the solution to each problem on my own.  I keep healthy by eating healthy foods, exercising, resting when needed, trying not to over-do it on a 'good' day...balance is key, etc....

I have a wonder GP and get all the support I need from him. He does not hesitate to send me for tests, make phone calls to other Doctors while I am in his office to ask for info, etc.....I have been with him since 2001.  Prior to that I had a GP who told me it was 'all in my head' and gave me Percocet....not knowing at the time that it was a narcotic, was very happy that it was taking care of the pain.  When I learned what I was taking, I  immedietly stopped the meds and then just tried to stay away from that doc as much as possible!

I wish is could do more activities with my kids and husband.  That is my biggest issue......I am not able to do what I could in the past.  Prior to Fibro I served 8 years in the Military (boot camp and all), ran marathons, was at the  gym 5 days a week, etc......that it why I find this illness so darn confusing....I was treating my body right!!

I have 2 great aunts, 1 aunt and 1 cousin on my Fathers side of the Family who have been diagnosed with Fibro.  I also have 2 aunts on my Mothers side who have been diagnosed with Fibro.  I believe my Mother has it aswell, but she would never admit to it.  All of her ailments/health issues sound just like mine...lol, but she is to proud...and WAY stronger than me!!
