I was first dx with FMS when I was about 25, but in retrospect I had symptoms starting around puberty. My mother thought I was a hypochondriac (she feels terrible about it now). I have always had weird illnesses and now I know that it was FMS. I was lucky to get a quick dx once I started searching. I was seeing my chiro for back issues and he sent me off to the Rheumy and the Allergist. The chiro suspected FMS, but wanted to get my allergies under control and rule everything else out. Now I spend my time vascillating between feeling good, being in denial and playing poor me.
