About Sapphyr

I live with my husband/carer in Cambridge, UK I am registered disabled and the 'Blue Disc' parking scheme has helped me enormously as I now manage to do far more things that were, previously, very awkward.

More About Sapphyr

My professional profile is at http://www.jayne-crean.com/

Although I steadily experienced symptoms that were later diagnosed as MS, my initial, severe, flares were in early 2001 and futher tests established that this was MS.

My ability to work rapidly deteriorated through the year until I was forced to resign from 85% of the positions I previously held.

Through 2002 to 2004, I walked 11km to the gym and back three times a week which helped to defer the physical restrictions of MS; my physiotherapist, at that time, worked with recovering stroke victims at a local hospital which was en route to the gym and we discovered how similar the effects of a damaged brain are... and aren't!

I also studied a Creative Writing course which helped to overcome the mental restrictions and this gave me some new interests like Metaphysical Poetry!

In 2004, I moved to Cambridge and met the man who is now my fiancé and, very willing, carer Wink.

I studied an Eng. Lit. course and still write contemporary fiction when I can.

I used to play baroque recorder, piano, synthesisers and guitar but, sadly, I now go through the the motions as I was scaring the cats and the neighbours to much!

Despite the MS, I can still continue my love of cooking.

I have three daughters who have left home and, in January, 2008 I became a grandmother Smile

Later that year, my fiancé moved in with me and we await the easing of the property market.

In March 2011, we were married :)
