I am the daughter of my Dad. He has been struggling with Parkinson's for 8 years. He is now in a Skilled Nursing unit with a feeding tube and catheter. He has dementia. He is barely understandable when he tries to talk and when he does, it doesn't make sense. I think he is as comfortable as he can be and in terms of "quality of life" it is as good as could be. Not great but okay. He is able to be off the tube for 4 hours a day and be taken outside to sit in his wheelchair. I am always wondering what is he thinking and what can I do for him. What does he want? Horrible disease.
