More About SouthernPoet
My symptoms begin in March 2008. It started in my right hand, in which I could not hold or grasp anything. This is also when I took my first fall. By April it had affected the use of my right arm.
By the end of May it had crossed over to my left arm and hand. I could bring my left arm up to my waist, but that was the extent of it unless I was lying flat in bed. By this time I had fallen over 20 times due to my equilibrium. My upper/lower legs were just fine, and I had no problem in walking.
By the end of June I had lost the ability to feed myself or maintain myself in my daily task. At this Point I was unable to get up and out of bed. I also started to have problems with my eyes. A burning sensation occurs which is very irritable and causes my nose to run as if I were crying. I also began to laugh/cry uncontrollably.
In early August I started to notice a slight slur in my speech and I could find myself drooling a little when I went to sleep.
It is now November. The progression has seemed to hold its own at this point. Although I can feel it beginning to affect my legs and my walking. This is where all of my strength has remained, but now I am in need of help when walking. The laughing/crying remains, although it seems as if, it is not as bad.
