I stopped working in January of 2008. I was a sales representative for a national packaging company for about ten years. Prior to that I sold Caterpillar construction equipment for eight and before that, I sold commercial kitchen ventilation hoods and fire suppression systems for about five. In my teens I worked in restaurants as a dishwasher, busboy and waiter. I even worked as a waiter for Chef Tell along the main line in PA.

I grew up on the Jersey shore surfing, clamming, sailing, kayaking, fishing, waterskiing, unicycling and crabbing. I lived in the water. Getting to some higher ground in the winter months, I enjoyed skiing for about 35 years.  Skiing was a tough thing to give up. It was not so much the physical act of skiing as it was a vehicle to be with my three older brothers.  We are all very close.  

Through all this, I feel so fortunate. I have a wonderful wife, a healthy happy daughter and a supportive loving family on both sides. I have lived my life, even prior to my PLS, feeling that there is a positive to every negative. I could always find something good in the worst of things. This disorder has definitely tested my ability to always look on the bright side. It is slow, though I am finding positive changes in my life as a direct result of my disorder. With-out a doubt the best thing to come out of this is spending more time with my daughter.
