About margie99

We bought a 10 week old maltese who was diagnosed with a liver shunt and had surgery. He can never have protein. He passed AKC Canine Good Citizen and passed the Certified Service Dog. He was privately trained and then tested. He is our precious Spencer who weighs 7 lbs .25 oz. He was born July 9 , 2009. When I freeze , I say feet and he begins scratching at my feet. Somehow it works and I stop freezing. On occasion that I do fall. I say help, if no one is around ,he runs over to the emergency box and presses the button . The monitoring station calls and if no answer, help arrives.

I am so very fortunate. I have been married for 45+ years. Our two children are grown and successful. Our grandchildren are so precious. Just wish they lived closer. I survived a major stroke. It took one year of physical therapy and continuous exercising and strengthening to regain all of me back.
I feel so blessed. Yes I have Parkinson's Disease with dystonia of the feet. But I am fortunate that the medicines are helping.  Life can be hard~~ I call it Band-Aid and Patch UP Time. We are here for a reason. I talk to people and explain to them about Parkinsons. I am a very good listener as well. I have met so many good people throughout the world  with PD and their caregivers. Larry and I are planning to attend the Parkinson's Unity Walk this year. Our theme is " RVing with Parkinson's Disease". We have traveled seeing our beautiful country in our RV and have been spreading the word about Parkinson's Awareness.  If anyone would like to attend this annual Unity Walk in Central Park, New York City, in April, you are welcome to join our team. You do not have to own an RV. Our goal has been spreading the word about Parkinson's Disease and helping each other along the way.  If you would like to make a donation, please go to: http://www.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=487830&lis=1&kntae487830=041F90B2EDDD4591B465CCC8CE9D6673&team=4819574&tlteam=0  All donations are tax free. 100% funds that are donated go  to Parkinson's Research.  The Parkinson's Unity Walk is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Any amount of money is appreciated to fight this dreaded disease.I thank you from the bottom of my heart.  I would also like to say, my husband Larry is a retired Marine. Semper Fi! I also call all military veterans, join in and lets fight this battle together!Smile
