I am doing well right now after a difficult year last year. One contributing factor is that I have managed to avoid colds all year so far which has allowed me to avoid any courses of IVs.
One thing I would like to share is that the Cold Defence nasal spray has really helped minimize or eliminate cold symptoms - I only came across it recently but it seems to help a lot. It's available in the UK from Boots (don't know about US) and you can use it when you get the first symptoms. In my experience, when using the spray the cold still leaves you feeling a bit drained but it doesn't cause the usual cough that knocks my lung function down + usually leads to IVs. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has tried this (or similar) to see if this worked for you.
