My behavior since infancy has always been distressing to my self and to my environment. I think that a lot of my earliest behavioral problems can be attributed to my ADD. My parents chose to teach me cognitive behavioral skills instead using medication. I first began to use medication in addition when I was formally diagnosed at 15 years of age. Since then I struggle a lot with managing my symptoms and medication.

I believe the fatal physical health issue triggered my first clinical depression. From that point in time my episodes seem to be rapid cycling. I am being treated, however, I have recent concerns that I am still rapid cycling, notably to much more controllable extremes.

Based on what I understand and have read about BPD I have been displaying symptoms essentially my whole life. I experienced a fatal physical health issue when I was 14. That is the point at which the serious symptoms exploded. I was out of control and made some life altering mistakes. Catalyzed by these mistakes I was diagnosed five years later, at 19. I have been on medication and in therapy for two years now. Directly related to treatment I have experienced a change that saved my life.
