I have only experienced 2 manic episodes, 6 yrs apart, never depression. Because I didn't receive much personal therapy during or following my 1st episode I was in denial during most of my 2nd episode (I also went off my depykote after 1 yr). I would try to convince those around me that I was experiencing some level of Christianity that was common in the early church, but rare today. Now, after the 2nd episode, with Lithobid and a good counselor, I can see that my "normal" Christian values and passion were elevated an unusual and sometimes unhealthy level. (con't in long bio...)
