- It helped me quit smoking & that was the only reason I kept taking it. I took it for about a year because i was afraid i'd start smoking again without it if I quit too soon. Finally I just got tired of being so nauseated so I had my dr change it to something else. I told my dr it actually didnt help my depression at all, apparently it was the wrong medication for my type of depression.
