About ConcernedWife

My husband and I have been together for seven years. In 2010 I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and in the beginning of 2011 my husband was diagnosed with 4th stage prostate cancer that has matastized to 85% of his bones. We have 3 beautiful children together and had/have a wonderful life together. This however has been like a bomb going off and has changed all our lives. At this time my husband uses a walker and has had everything in regards to treatment. Looking for other directions of support and thought I would give this site a try. Hello!

More About ConcernedWife

My husband did have his PCA checked annually since his father past away with Prostate Cancer 6 years ago. However, in the year of 2010 he went for a physical but never followed up with his blood work. I think reason being we were so worked up with my medical condition that we didn't get to his. No excuse, just life got in the way. He has had radiation to his his lower spine, upper spine, his head, right shoulder, and both hips. Radiation does seem to really work with him as in a pallitive easing pain treatment. Traditional Chemo did not work. He also participated in a clinical trial chemo to no avail. He has been on several different hormones either by injection or pill form. He is currently on Zytiga which seems to be making him stronger day by day. He just was hospitalized for Spinal cord compression and is recovering from it. He has received radiation on his skull for double vision which has improved also radiation on his hip pain and this has improved. His mobility has improved somewhat and he's using a walker....this he did receive radiation for on his upper spine...however is not getting better as quick as we like. Patience truly is a vurtue in this case. My husband is such a strong man. He amazes me everyday for what he has to face. His will to live is also strong and he does remain positive. He is very much our rock pillar in our family, he remains strong for his wife and his children and others that care about him. We are trying to live the best we can with our situation....as most of you can understand this is difficult. But as long as we all remain supportive with one in other in our family we will get through this.
