About binarywoman
Hi there! I'm 37 years old and currently on break from my work towards my bachelor's degree in Video Game Design & Programming via an online school. I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome: Hypermobile in my freshman year of high school (1989) & have since been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & a few other things. Right now I am trying to get my nutrition changes back on track & start working out to lose weight & strengthen my muscles. I am passionate about getting my body where it needs to be so I can minimise the symptoms that have always troubled me. I enjoy sharing & talking with others!
Hi! My name is Leigh Bain (formerly Kimberlee "Leigh" Gaffney). I live in Texas with my husband of thirteen years along with our cats Zoe (Himalayan) & Buddy (American Shorthair); they are our babies. We enjoy small town living, but looking to move, maybe as far as Seattle, Washington (State).
I have a rare genetic disorder called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Tests said it was negative for Arthochlasia, so I remain in the Hypermobile (Type III) camp. Basically, my DNA makes the collagen improperly. Collagen is the glue of the body & mine is not very sticky. It causes joints dislocations, deteriorating teeth & eyesight, and other cosmetic features like slow aging of the skin, which is paper thin, often translucent & feels like velvet to the touch. I recently had a neurostimulator implanted (2010) & it seems to be a be helping.
In my spare time, I enjoy writing & gaming. You can read my creative work on Writers Cafe or DeviantART.
