About Maite

I apologize for entering my own data in too much in a rush. I visited the Neurologist Doctor who made the diagnostics in 1989 and I now include the data in a more accurate and complete manner. I also apologize for my poor English language. I live in north of Spain. I married and have two male sons. My life is very active and I carry out most tasks as a housewife, i.e. ironing, cooking, besides other more personal hobbies, i.e. artistic painting, respiratory exercises, static cycling, walking, reading, etc. True enough it may happen that I develop more activities depending on how the day comes. In case any activity tires me I pass on to a more relaxing one.

More About Maite

As far back as 1988 I began to realise that my right hand side leg was not functioning well when walking, particularly when going down hill. Also I was unable to run. Cold temperatures made me also to become stiff. When the second year came I was not able to walk on my own due to lack of equilibrium although I was feeling strong with punctual moments of weakness. The third and fourth year I began to loose muscle mass in shoulders and hands. Some time after I had difficulties at swallowing and also difficulties to make myself understood due to bad vocalization.

Walking capacity has gradually worsened and now I can only walk very slowly with the help of walking sticks. Movement capacity in my hands has however improved and my voice has been also slowly improving for the last 7 years.

The Doctor said that no definite treatment is available nowdays. I then began my pilgrimage through various therapies. I could not tell whether any of them made me any good, although from experience I found that at the end what is most important is the skill of the therapist practitioner rather than the therapy itself(homeopathy, acupuncture..).

I believe that emotional stability is most important. It helps people to “charge energy”. I practice it often every day, particularly when I wake up and when sleepy. “I address” my concentration to definite parts of the body or simply I allow it to flow. It may be just a belief but it makes no harm and it is easy to put it into practice. I encourage you to do the same.

All the best from,
