Main problem with Miralax is that it works too well: taking a full dose every day leads to stool that's so soft that you'll find yourself going multiple times a day, and possibly having accidents. My GI doc recommends taking oral docusate, a milder stool softener, and a stimulant suppository. That way, you go when you want to go. Mixed results so far.
