I take 320mg saw palmetto extract for my BPH, an anti-inflammatory diet for my OA: 1) Omega 3 fish oil 1tsp/day (see below), 2) eliminate as much as possible omega 6 oils, 3) reduce high glycemic index foods. On July 26, 2011, I upped my daily anti-oxidant elixir to 1tsp ground cloves (ORAC = 290,283), 1tsp ground black pepper (ORAC = 34,050), 1Tbsp ground turmeric (ORAC = 127,068) and 2 large cloves of pressed raw garlic, mixed with 1t omega 3 fish oil and 1.5tsp olive oil, taken in 1/2tsp portions taken with 1oz of warm water as a chaser. The elixir seems to be helping my BPA and constipation, and should be preventing disease in general. I also take 7,5 00IU/d vitamin D3.
