I’ve turned 64. I've been a clinical social worker for about 30 years and currently work 1/4 time for a health related research study. I am fairly active (kayaking, camping, bike riding, flying stunt kites), but my swimming has suffered over the last year at increased difficulty with stamina. Greatly out of character for me, I used a good deal of the spring and summer to hand build a Greenland style skin-on-frame kayak. it was exhilarating to test my tenacity and creativity on such a concrete project.

When I am taking my medication regularly, most people would have almost no idea that I am affected by Parkinson's. I have had several surgeries for a benign parotid tumor, so that my face droops slightly on one side. Though rare, people are more likely to notice and at times comment about my face than notice or comment about the PD.
