I have had bowel issues as long as I can remember. When I was younger, I had severe bouts of constipation. I think my record was 2 1/2 weeks without a BM. I would take laxatives, eat prunes and drink prune juice, add fiber to my yogurt, you name it....Still, nothing seemed to keep me regular. It seemed like the healthier I ate, the worse I got. What I probably didn't realize is that I was sensitive to wheat.
In my fourties I started to have the opposite issue. EVERYTHING gave me diarrhea. I could get a little upset and I'd have an accident. If I walked a lot, I got diarrhea. If I ate anything remotely different, I got diarrhea. It was during this time that my daughter got diagnosed with both Crohn's Disease AND Ulcerative Colitis. She also had gall bladder disease and an ulcer. It seems like these types of immune issues run in my family. I am just very sad that she has it much worse than I do emoticon sad I suspect I have some degree of what she has, but I can't bring myself to get checked. I assume when I finally have insurance they will want to do a colonoscopy, so I will figure it all out then.

Wow, hard to believe that wasn't that long ago. I was severely depressed. Perhaps I should have come around here a bit for some moral support!
