I have been a Psoriasis sufferer for the last 40yrs. And have had the occasional phase where I am plaque free. I have learnt to live with this sometimes debilitating condition, although at times I really feel down and depressed. Luckily my husband and children are very supportive. I now let my skin show and try to ignore the comments of ignorant and uninformed people. Everyone with this condition should show it and not hide away as we are not Lepers. We need more sites like this and plenty of information for the Public to read and find out more about this awful condition. CONDITION not DISEASE

I'm an ordinary person who has good points and bad. I do not profess to be anything other than ME. What you see is what you get. After living with Psoriasis for so long, it does not upset me as much as it did when I was younger. I try to think positive most of the time, although I do have my down moments, especially when I have Plaques on my face. The use of make up seems to show instead of camoflage, so I am inclined just to use a greasey cream for a few days until it settles then I use Oil of Ulay. I swim in the local pool and if I find people staring and being obnoxious I ask them if they would like photos so they can go to the nearest clinic and find out if they have caught the dreaded lergi. This usually embarrasses them or they ask about my condition. Which I will explain to them. meet fire with fire and ignorance with explanation. It usually works and you sometimes get a sympathy vote. Be Proud of yourself. Its what is under the skin what counts not the surface. Be not afraid. At least you can do more things than people who are paraplegic or not able to do things we can. Think POSITIVE as much as possible. It does help.
