Grew up as a military brat. Discovered a large bump in my neck at the age of 17. Was sent to Walter Reed oncology where a biopsy and MRI was preformed. Biopsy showed that specific nodule was benign, but MRI showed the presence of 7+ tumors. Due to the number and size, and because of my young age the doctor recommended removing the entire organ. Thyroid was removed in may 2005. Struggled for over five years trying to regulate with T4 (synthroid) treatment only. Finally found a doctor that believed in T3 supplements. Doing much better 6 years later.
