I have worked for the federal government since 1995. I work for the government because I believe in what I do and want to make sure my tax money is being well spent (it is). I enjoy working, but it is getting more difficult as time goes by. I have problems with my hands and vision that go untreated because my doctor acts like does not hear me or that they are irrelevant, minor or not related to my MS. He finally listened to me about my pain (after 10 years) and put me on Gabapentin (I hope it works).
I consider myself moderately impacted by my MS. Some days are better than others, some worse. My hands and vision make my job very hard (I work for a training department and work on the computer all day) and I do not know how to get my doctor to listen to me.
I love life and choose to be happy. I believe that being happy is a choice not just something that happens, you can choose to be happy or you can choose not to be happy. It takes a little work, but is well worth it.
