About giantsfan4ever

After residing in the Virgin Islands for almost 5 yrs, I now had to relocate to Puerto Rico due to my husbands illness and his healthcare provider being the VA. There is no VA Hosp in the VI; only a small clinic. I was very sad to leave the beautiful island and all my friends and especially the excellent medical care that I got, but it is what it is. It's been somewhat of a challenge to find a MD who practices Holistic/Alternative med as that is not widely practiced here in Puerto Rico; however, I have found one close by. I'm still looking into the Stem Cell procedures in Cuba.

More About giantsfan4ever

I have typical RRMS. I suffer from numbness in my legs, arm and face. I have constant pain in my spine that never goes away. I can only treat it with a variety of treatments to help abate it. I have cognitive issues. Forget things frequently, have become dyslexic and I am a total disaster in the kitchen. (should never be around heat, fire, knives or boiling water) Yikes! I suffer off and on with migraines and do treat those with prescribed drugs if necessary and I can't head it off in time. (I take Fiorinal) I have tremors over pretty much my whole body. They get worse sometimes and I'm not sure what causes them to become worse. I can't be in heat: sun, spa's or take hot showers/baths as that surely brings on worsening MS symptoms. I have weakness in my legs and sometimes it feels as if I may need a wheelchair but have avoided that up to now. I'm still upright at the moment and able to walk. For the past yr, i've had trouble swallowing. Not sure why or if that's connected to the MS. I choose to treat my MS with Holistic/Alternative med treatments. I have weekly therapeutic massages, acupuncture, use the tens unit on my spine and all this has had a positive effect on my MS. I also take supplements: Cardio4life, OPC, magnesium, calcium, B complex, vitamins and minerals and I use Moxibustion on my hands and knees which have Osteo Arthritis. I stay away from any and all traditional treatments for anything. I lived in Asia for 4 yrs and saw how well Oriental medicine works. I eat mostly veggies, fruits and lots of nuts. I walk everyday. I think I'm doing fairly well for my age and my medical conditions of which now also include Ischemic Heart Disease in addition to the MS. And if i'm not doing "fairly well" then
it is what it is!
