Well, I think I I've pretty much stabilized so that I'd better just get used to the lack of unencumbered walking.  I'm not able to safely drive so am beholden to everybody if I want to go anywhere, not that I have that much energy to go anywhere much.  I guess I'm content to stay in my bed with my dogs most of the time.  The master bedroom is like the clearing area of the house.  My 17 and 19 year old sons always seem underfoot, and our dining room table is always totally covered with my husbands papers so dinner is almost always served  on the bed.  I usually get up 6 AM (throw back memories of when the kids were younger) and get wiped out after watching the View at 10am.  I take my nap and then proceed to oversee the goings on here, from behind my laptop by the bed.  Scrabble is my sport.  We moved into a one level home from a two story condo which never got sold after the buyers backed out, right when the bubble burst here in Orange County.  We have no cash left after the mortgage payments, the price of my meds, and two  college tuitions.  I guess we'll never be able to afford that Alaskan cruise we always wanted to take, but the good news is I've got two fine (usually) boys and a wonderful husband of 21 years and we all have great senses of humor.   There's lots of music in the house, besides me, everyone sings and plays an instrument (guitar, trombone and trumpet).  The other good news is I had lots of adventures abroad (Africa, Israel, Hawaii, Great Britain, Germany, France and more) when I was younger and could still climb mountains and such so that I wasn't exactly shortchanged in my life.  I was never the "why me?" personality when I was diagnosed but rather "why not me?" as I always knew I could handle my fate from earlier in my life.   Most of my ancestors lived into their 80's and 90's back when most people didn't, so I know I'll have a long (mostly horizontal) life.  Hopefully one day I'll even have grandchildren.  I'm hoping the state of the world will start to improve when we have a new president, and who knows what stem cells and other research have in store for us in the future.  This has been a slice of my life as it is these days, and one way or another, we'll survive just fine.
