More About edawgg
I was diagnosed in 2002. I woke up one morning and the right side of my lips were numb, then a couple of days later the whole right side of my face was numb. i went to the dr and she said that i either had lime diease or ms. the next day i went back to school, i was a senior in college. luckly, all of the numbness went away within a week. then i was "all better" and felt "normal." I started Avonex in 2005. I've been on it ever since then, in the begining it worked okay. No new spots showed up on my MRI. So, on Monday Jan 21, I went back to my neurologist and she said that there were new spots and one was big, it took up the dye. So, she put me on Zenapax, it's iv for 15 minutes, once a month, but for the first few treatments it's every two weeks. i had my first infusion on feb 6. it want okay, no real side effects, just random hicups, here and there. the next morning i woke up with my fingertips numb. i called my nurse and she said that they weren't surprised and they saw it coming. she said that it should go away by tomorrow. the next day i woke up and my entire right side was numb. i told my nurse and she put me on iv steroids for 3 days and to stay on the Zenapax and the Avonex. I did the 3 days of steroids and i had my second treatment of Zenapax and now i'm just patiently waiting for my numbness to go away. my dr and nurse told me that it would be wise to take some time off but i'm not exactly sure i'm ready to do that. i know that i am lucky to have my wonderful wife and my friends for support, but every day is sorta scary. so, if anyone is actually reading this, thank you and say hi.
