What is Hepatitis B Vaccine?

Hepatitis B vaccine provides immunization against infection caused by known subtypes of hepatitis B virus. The regimen consists of 3 doses, the first given on an elected date, second given 1 month later, and the third given 6 months after the first. It is available as Engerix-B® and Recombivax HB®.
