Hydrocodone or dihydrocodeine is a semi-synthetic opioid derived from two of naturally occurring opiates, codeine and thebaine. It is an orally active narcotic analgesic and antitussive. It is commonly available in tablet, capsule, and syrup form and is often used in combination with other agents.
