What is Byetta?

Byetta, a brand name for the drug exenatide, is used for the management (adjunctive) of type 2 diabetes mellitus (noninsulin dependent, NIDDM) in patients receiving a sulfonylurea, thiazolidinedione, or metformin (or a combination of these agents).
