What is Ciprofloxacin ophthalmic?

Ciprofloxacin is a quinolone antibiotic used to treat superficial infections of the eye, such as bacterial conjunctivitis and corneal ulcers. It is available as a solution and ointment, both of which should be applied to the eye.
