What is Hydroxyzine HCL?
Hydroxyzine is a generic drug in two preparations, pamoate and hydrochloride salts, used to relieve itching caused by allergies and to control the nausea and vomiting caused by various conditions, including motion sickness; also used for anxiety and to treat the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal.

- This medication was prescribed for me to take as needed for anxiety. It helps my body relax when I am exhausted but my body feels like it is running a marathon and will not allow me to rest. The downside for me is it makes me very sleepy for a long time and I have to be alert to help care for my wheelchair confined 78 year old mother.
