What is Mercaptopurine?

Mercaptopurine is an antineoplastic and immunosuppressant agent used for the treatment (maintenance and induction) of acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Off label it is used as a steroid-sparing agent for corticosteroid-dependent Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.
