What is Primary Hyperoxaluria?

Primary hyperoxaluria is a rare condition characterized by the overproduction of oxalate, which when combined with calcium leads to kidney stones and other kidney problems. It is caused by the deficiency of either AGXT or GRHPR, enzymes that normally prevent the buildup of oxalate.
