What is SVT (Supraventricular Tachycardia)?

Supraventricular tachycardias which originate somewhere above the ventricles, are caused by abnormal circuitry in the heart, usually present at birth, that creates a loop of overlapping signals. Episodes may last only a few seconds or several hours.
