Food additives may include man-made and natural substances. Additives that my cause reactions include preservatives (sulfites, parabens, nitrates and nitrites, benzoates), color and flavor enhancers (MSG, tartrazine, BHT and BHA) and the sweetener, aspartame. Reactions vary by type and severity.
