Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a group of disorders in which the gut (small and large intestines) become red and swollen. It is characterized by abdominal pain, diarrhea, bleeding from the rectum. The most common forms of IBD are ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
