A clinical research study for patients with ALS experiencing pseudobulbar affect/emotional lability.
If you have ALS and experience involuntary episodes of crying or laughing you may have a neurologic condition called pseudobulbar affect (PBA), also known as emotional lability. You are not alone. An estimated 20% to 50% of patients diagnosed with ALS suffer from PBA episodes. Avanir Pharmaceuticals is studying an investigational targeted PBA therapy known as Zenvia™ or AVP-923. The STAR trial, sponsored by Avanir, is currently enrolling adults diagnosed with ALS that exhibit the signs and symptoms of PBA. You may be eligible to participate in this clinical research study.
