About Me
|
For the past 8 years, I worked as a marketing and communications professional in the technology publishing and research industries for IDG subsidiaries like CXO Media and IDC. My previous experience is in designing marketing and media relations strategies, and successfully implementing integrated campaigns to establish and build products and brands in the marketplace. I also worked on a series of government relations projects with entities like the U.S. Secret Service, FBI, U.S. Department of Commerce, among others.
In addition to my daytime job, I also spent my recent past serving as a supporting caregiver for my maternal grandparents, my Nana & Papa. I come from a close-knit extended Italian family (Piscatelli is my maiden name). While growing up, my parents, brothers and I lived upstairs from them in a two-family house. In recent years, my Papa battled pancreatic cancer and my Nana, who had ongoing congestive heart failure, developed dementia. My mom and I, along with many other family members, helped care for them. They both died a week apart back in December 2005. For the past few years, as much as I missed them, I also came to realize how much I missed the act of helping them. When the opportunity arose for me to work at PatientsLikeMe, it became clear that I was being given a chance to align my professional path with my passion for helping people. It’s an opportunity I could not pass up.
I earned my BA from Boston College (Go Eagles!), where I was a double-major in English and Communications. I also have an MBA from Suffolk University.
Last but not least…my loving husband, Sean, and I gave birth to our daughter back on June 4th, 2007. Her name is Alexa Rose (“Rose” after my Nana) and she is our everything.
