What is Aspirin?
Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) is a drug used in the treatment of pain, inflammation and fever. In lower doses it is also an effective anticoagulant; therefore it is often given to treat or prevent heart disease. "Aspirin" is technically a brand name owned by Bayer but is in widespread generic use.
