Adding new treatments is easy. You can add treatments by searching the most popular treatments by category, or by using the search tool at the top. When you select them from the list on the left, they go to your selected treatments list on the right. You can continue to add treatments on this page until you have entered your complete history, then hit the yellow next button.
Many treatments and symptoms were entered by patients like yourself. If you see treatment information that needs correcting, contact us and we will do our best to correct it.
Like all information you come across, on the web or elsewhere, it is important to carefully compare it against many other sources. Our symptom and treatment reports reflect data that have been entered by the community. They cannot be guaranteed to be accurate, and they are not intended to represent complete information about a treatment, symptom, or disease.
You should use PatientsLikeMe as one more source of information in your quest to manage your disease. But always consult multiple information sources and, of course, your doctor.
In addition to the the primary symptoms related to your disease you can track other symptoms. To do this go to the Symptoms page where you will see a list of Other Symptoms. Find the symptom you would like to add and click on it. On the next page you will see a box in the upper right hand "My Profile - are you experiencing this symptom?". Click on this and you will be prompted to add the date the symptom started and the severity. Notice that at the top of the next page (Edit Symptoms) you will be able to add other symptoms.
If your symptom is not listed you can add a new symptom by going to the link at the bottom of each Symptom page, Can't find the symptom you're looking for? Add your symptom today! A box to enter a new symptom will be shown at the top of this page. The new treatment will be added to the system for other patients to see.
To delete a secondary symptom go to the Symptom page and click on the name of the symptom you want to delete (or change). You will then have the option to Edit or Delete the symptom.
You may have noticed that we ask you to list medications on your profile that you used to take, but have since stopped. When you enter a previous prescription treatment or dosage, that information gets added to the PatientsLikeMe community treatment reports, which other patients use to learn more about treatments and understand their own experiences. If you stopped a drug because of its cost or side effects, that's useful information to share.
The more you share about your experience with a treatment, the more other members and researchers can learn about how this treatment is acting in the real-world.
